Meet the Chef

Sara was born and raised in High Point, NC  and attended NC State University in Raleigh, NC where she earned a Masters Degree in Horticultural Science as well as a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. After college she moved to South Carolina, as she was drawn to the natural beauty of the beach. She quickly fell in love with surfing and found inspiration in practicing yoga.  She currently lives in Murrells Inlet with her three rescue dogs and one cute but indifferent rescue cat.

A lifelong fitness enthusiast and former competitive swimmer, she took up running as a hobby. That quickly morphed into an amateur career in triathlon.  In addition to competing in multiple Ironman races a year, she obtained certifications as a RRCA Running Coach and USAT Triathlon Coach, to help spread her love of the sport. She is also currently enrolled in 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, and promotes how important yoga is for flexibility in body and spirit. Sara loves encouraging others to reach their goals and live their best life.

As a fitness professional Sara strongly advocates the importance of proper nutrition. Healthy eating is key and creating nutrient dense, delicious meals is a passion of hers.  Her favorite method of cooking is a plant-based approach, utilizing the rainbow of fruits and vegetables. Sara enjoys creating new recipes with unique combinations of ingredients just to keep things interesting.

She is so inspired by the beauty of the natural world that in her spare time she can usually be found outside: gardening, hiking with her dog, trail running, mountain biking, horseback riding, doing yoga on her stand up paddle board, or just watching the waves roll in.
